Cystic Parathyroid Adenoma in Four Patients from India
Abstract
Cystic lesions of the parathyroid gland are rare (0.5%–1% of all parathyroid pathologies). Macroscopic cysts larger than 1 cm in diameter are referred to as parathyroid cysts. These lesions can be either true parathyroid cysts or cystic degeneration of parathyroid adenomas. We present our experience of 4 patients with cystic lesions of the parathyroid gland. Three of these patients had parathyroid adenomas that were atypical due to their large size and cystic character. One patient had a true parathyroid cyst presenting with compressive features.Downloads
